This pre-application submission design statement outlines proposals for a new low embodied carbon, low energy single dwelling, sited within a field in the Verno Conservation Area. The new dwelling is intended to be an exemplar of low embodied carbon, low energy design, as well as fostering the use of traditional craftsmanship, materials and vernacular building forms. The objective is to create a beautiful, sustainable home in an ecologically rich woodland meadow setting.

The land is available with a strong pre-application response, a full planning application is awaited on the basis of a self-builder. We understand this would qualify for exemption from Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).
