Situated on the East side of the Avon Valley, Sopley and Ripley are mostly rural areas with less than 300 dwellings, most dating back to the 19th Century. It is home to Sopley Mill, constructed in 1066 remains in place, it was renovated to its former glory most recently in 2013 and also Moorlands College, one of the largest evangelical theological seminaries in the country.
