Who lives in Charminster?

Although the majority of houses in Charminster are family homes, you can be sure to feel part of a youthful and dynamic community here. Due to its close proximity to both Bournemouth Town Centre and Bournemouth University there is a real diversity of people living in Charminster covering many different ethnic origins. 

Properties to rent and buy in Charminster

The majority of the properties in Charminster are family houses but there are some pockets of students in certain roads. Most houses are Victorian, Edwardian and then move up to the 1920’s.  

Parks and green spaces

Located close to Charminster is Queen's Park which is one of the largest parks in Bournemouth and is home to Queen's Park Golf course. This beautiful park will take you through a range of woodland, formal golf course and informal green spaces. There is a modern playground, themed by nature using natural materials to encourage adventure play with climbing, swings and slides.  With plenty of seating for children and adults and a cafe for hungry tums, families can stay and play all day. Queen's Park Golf Course is an ex-championship golf course open to the public for pay and play.

Shopping in Charminster

Charminster offers an array of smaller international shops but also has your larger names such as Tesco Express and The CO-OP Food.

When it comes to eating out in Charminster you will certainly be spoilt for choice, there is a huge choice of cuisine from all over the world with some our favourites being; Baraca, Stars Diner, Laluna, Thai Basil and the Tipsy Cow.

Charminsters transport links

Charminster has great access to the Wessex Way A338 and Bournemouth train station is on the edge of Charminser.  Some other locations that are all within easy access are; Bournemouth Town Centre, the Beach, Bournemouth University and Castle Point Shopping Centre. An added bonus to Charminster is the buses with many of the most popular Yellow and Blue bus routes running through the High Street on a regular basis.
